Divorce – From Hurt to Hope
by Joe Borgonia, M.F.T.
When we get married, we never expect to one day be confronted with the reality of divorce. All of a sudden, our life is turned upside down. We question what’s happening. We may feel unsure of ourselves, where we’re going, what is my life going to be like now?
The crisis of divorce is painful. But a crisis by definition is temporary. It will pass—and there is healing and life after divorce.
Divorce can be difficult to talk about; Even in Christian circles, it may be brushed aside, seen as a taboo, and carry a stigma. On the other hand, it is a need that needs to be addressed and brought into the light, where those who are suffering can find support, encouragement, and hope.
If you are separated or going through a divorce, I would like to offer encouragement and resources that can help as you maneuver through the initial process of stabilizing your life on the path towards healing.
